Luke skywalker demontraits victory as he defeats his own father and the empire to show that he is a jedi master and can defeat any jedi that attacks him. Luke spents years and years training so that when the time came and he had to fight Darth Vader and the empire he would be ready for anything that came his way, he had a few speed bumps along the way such as he had his hand cut off, but he was given a robotic hand and he kept training because he knew for him to continue his life and be safe the fight against Vader and the empire would have to occur.
